:: ONLINE HELP » ASSIGN DEDICATED IP

Assign Dedicated IP

You have to configure the IP Address setting before you can assign dedicated IP Address for a selected location. Please refer to IP Address Settings for detail explainations.

You can also assign dedicated IP Address for any equipment in your network by choosing the menu 'Assign Dedicated IP'. Unlike 'Assign New IP Address' which automatically allocates IP Address, 'Assign Dedicated IP' is for exceptional assignment which require a special/dedicated IP Address for any equipment.

Instruction Steps:

  • Click Area to select the area.
  • For Regional LAN you have to select a state.
  • Then choose the City.
  • Choose the Workgroup for Regional LAN format or
  • Type in the IP value (denotes the third octet). This value represents the segment number for Divisional LAN format.
  • Type in the IP Octet 4.
  • Enter the equipment type

myIPs will scan myIPs database to ensure that the choosen IP Address is available. myIPs will also ensure that the choosen IP Octet 4 is in the defined IP range for the equipment. myIPs will discover or scan the network to ensure that the choosen IP Address is not used. If the assigned IP Address is being used, a dialog box will appear to notify used IP Address. Click 'Detail Info' to get information on the equipment. Note: myIPs will try to obtain further information on the equipment such as hostname, LAN ID and MAC Address. This information will be updated into the Remarks field.

You can include additional information such as Project Name, User Name and User Address by clicking on 'User Details' tab for any new IP Address assignment.

Click on Unit/Division to select user's address or click to add new Unit/Division Setting.

Click 'Save' to store information into myIPs database.

Note:
Use 'Dedicated IP Address' assignment only if necessary due to unavoidable technical requirement.
